Process and Methods for E2E Maintenance Architecture

2021
The presentation will present the main results of the Clean Sky 2 project DEMETER. The four-year project started in 2015 and was completed at the end of 2019. In the project, technological development contributions were made in the field of structural health monitoring and usage monitoring. Different approaches were followed. Usage monitoring is based on flight data and flight models to estimate the local stresses on an aircraft structure. This information could then be used to evaluate fatigue and to adjust maintenance schedules. As structural health monitoring systems, load path analyses were performed on the engine mount. Very good agreement with the validation experiments was shown. Additionally, guided ultrasonic waves were investigated as another technology. The aim here was to compensate for environmental influences and to evaluate the detected damage. All technologies were evaluated for their usefulness at the end of the project in contrast to an end to end maintenance architecture. Beside the main results and the presentation will show the main lessons learned out of the Clean Sky 2 project and gives an outlook on how the work continued in the last 2 years.
