Chiral coordination polymer as a luminescence sensor for small organic molecules

2019
The new coordination polymer {[Cd 2 (bptc)(H 2 O) 6 ]·2H 2 O} n , where H 4 bptc is 3,3′,5,5′-biphenyltetracarboxylate, has been synthesized hydrothermally and characterized. In this complex, bptc 4− as tridentate ligands connect the Cd 2+ cations to form a chiral 2D layer, which crystallizes in the ortho-rhombic chiral space group C 222. The compound exhibits the properties of luminescence sensor for organic molecules.
