Light display apparatus for a graphic sign

According to the invention an apparatus for bright visualization of a graphic character, having at least a brighter area in a lighter color position and at least a darker area in a darker color position, with a light source behind an at least partially translucent or transparent display surface, characterized in that, on the display area the lighter area is formed as a translucent area in the lighter color position, illuminated by the light source and that on the display area, the darker area is formed as a clear, transparent or at least partially translucent in a corresponding lighter color position area illuminated by one of the light source background surface in the darker color scheme behind it.
