Penicillium spp., Cladosporium spp. and Rhizopus spp. in post-harvest citrus fruit in Spain

1995
The fungal population of different areas of warehouses for the marketing of oranges was studied. During the commercial season 1993-94, samples were taken from the air of the storage rooms and warehouses and the fruit surface. χ 2 Pearson's test was applied to know whether significant differences existed with regard to the number and genus of the fungi in the warehouses. The most abundant genera were Penicillium spp., Cladosporium spp. and Rhizopus spp. Significant differences were found among the three warehouses studied and the fungicide treatments used.
