Thoughts and Principle of Route Optimization of Long-distance Pipeline Projects

Because the route of long-distance pipeline is very long and the time period between the route design and the construction beginning is long too, the route disputes occur frequently between the pipeline and the other construction establishments. Therefore it is very important for engineers to optimize the pipeline route according to actual field situation prior to construction beginning. Based on many year’s experience of pipeline constructions, the authors summarize the thoughts and principle of route optimization of long-distance pipelines, which can greatly improve the quality of route optimization.
