Plagas, 28: 609-622. The camellia is a shrub, which has a quite a strong historical and cultural tradition in Portugal, especially in North Region. Camellia's planting has been increasing in it's importance, either in public as private gardens especially. A significant increase in the number of pests, diseases and physiopaties on camellia was observed in last years, but the carried out studies revealed that the injurious agents and their control are not enough. Two survey's of buds, flowers, branch and leaves taken from camellia's centres were considered as some of the most important of the E.D.M. region gardens. According to this study the mite which has shown the greatest medium rate of incidence was the Cosetacus camelliae (80%) since it was found in all the studied places. The insect with major medium attack's rate was scale insect Pulvinaria floccifera (18%) which was in eight out of the ten studied places. In relation to the diseases, it has concluded that the fungus Ciborinia camellia, which has recently been detected in Iberian Peninsula, represented patology with the highest medium attack's rate's existing in all the studied places in this specific region of Portugal (100%). The physiopaty with greatest incidence of attack was the sun damage (40%) which was also detected in all places. All the others studied phytopatologies presented lower incidence rates.
