A switch assembly for actuating a switch (5, 31) which is preferably located on one side remote from the front operator side page of a device, with a front actuator (2, 30) and a mechanical connection member (4) between the actuator (2, 30 ) and the switch (5, 31), wherein the connecting member (4) as a plastic tube (6, 32) (with an internal cable 7, 38) is formed of plastic, and wherein the plastic tube (6, 32) of a through the action of heat deformable thermoplastic material or the like exists., characterized in that the plastic pipe (6, 32) prior to insertion is pre-formed in the device over its length such that its substantially permanent shape is adapted to the structural conditions in the device.
