Modelos de predicción de exigencias minerales para rumiantes

2011
The aim of this review is to present the fundamental aspects of mineral nutrition in ruminants with emphasis in models of prediction of mineral requirements. The objective is due to the importance of minerals and their enormous influence on the productive performance in ruminants. Under tropical conditions, grazing is the main animal management strategy, and under these conditions becomes even more critical mineral nutrition, because it is known, often and mineral intake and mineral composition of forages. Recently, any committees, as NRC and CSIRO have published text on mineral requirements of ruminants, however, is difficult to find related most models to predict the mineral requirement in a single text, which is what we tried to do in this work. Due to environmental concerns, especially with the case of P and its relationship with the processes of water eutrophication, have redefined the requirements of this mineral, for to reduce its excretion. The models presented should be handled with very clear criteria to avoid errors in your application. The applicability of these models will allow mineral mix formulations with the most recent criteria of world literature in the field of mineral nutrition
