Optically Transparent Electrodes (Ote) for Spectro- Electrochemical Cells for Investigations on Redox Reactions of Proteins in the UV-, Visible and IR-Region
1997
The redox reaction of proteins are essential steps in biological energy conversion. Electron transfer to a redox cofactor and subsequent protein reactions can be monitored by combination of electrochemical and spectroscopic techniques using thin transparent electrodes prepared by sputtering techniques. Here the electrochemical reactions of cytochrome c (cyt c) at 4, 4′-dithiodipyridine coated gold electrodes are characterized.
