Direct 16O-cluster knockout from 24Mg(g.s.)

Abstract The O (g.s.) 16 + Be (g.s.) 8 structure of the ground state of 24Mg nucleus has been probed experimentally using direct knockout reaction Mg 24 ( O 16 , 2 16 O ) 8 Be in the quasi free scattering kinematics domain. The direct 16O-cluster knockout finite range prediction indicates a fair amount of O (g.s.) 16 + Be (g.s.) 8 component in the Mg (g.s.) 24 .
