Direct and indirect field oriented control of DFIG-generators for wind turbines variable-speed

2017
In this paper, we present a study and modeling of a wind system based on Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG), whose stator is directly connected to the grid in contrast to the rotor which is linked via power converters. The objective of this modeling is to improve the performance of the wind system by applying direct and indirect field oriented control to control the active and reactive power exchanged between the stator of the DFIG and the grid. The simulation results are tested and compared in order to evaluate the performance of the proposed system.
