Identificazione della provenienza dei manufatti litici rinvenuti nei siti preistorici di panicarola e norcia (Umbria)

In the present work have been characterised samples of lithic material coming from two places in Umbria (Central Italy): Panicarola 's, near Trasimeno lake and Norcia's where submitted to Instrumental neutron Activation Analysis for the determination of over 30 chemical elements. Chemical data are discussed in terms of precision and accuracy. The chemical composition has shown that the samples Panicarola's are of the obsidians, while those of Norcia are flints. Provenance study of the obsidians Panicarola 's has been effected by the comparison with obsidians flows of the Italian sources through discriminated analysis and of the cluster, it is possible to advance a provenance assignment showing the flow from where obsidian had been quarried for artefacts manufacturing.
