Further test for the simultaneous pattern recognition and track fitting by the Kalman filtering method

Abstract The implementation [P. Billoir, S. Qian, Nucl. Instr. and Meth A294 (1990) 219] of the Kalman filtering method for charged-track reconstruction in the vertex detector (VXD) of the ZEUS experiment has been further tested under various conditions. The results are encouraging; an explanation of the results is reported.
