It is showed through the practice of colleges and universities worldwide that the hardest step in the implement of general education is how to finding out an appropriate teaching method and curriculum evaluation, which also takes a crucial part in deciding the quality of the general knowledge courses. However, ordinary engineering colleges are particularly lack of the experience of introducing the general education reform due to its specificity in its structure of courses and background of majors. Besides, some constraints in concepts, faculty, and textbooks also enable radical-based education in a large scale to be infeasible. This research, which is based on the specific courses, discusses the reform in the teaching method of the general knowledge courses and in the assessment method, aiming to provide some inspiration and reference for the ordinary engineering colleges.
