Implantable medical devices made from block copolymers

A stent body made at least partly of a polymer composition which includes a dispersed elastomeric phase within a matrix, the composite comprising: a copolymer blended with a polymer of vitreous matrix block copolymer comprising block a block of homopolymer elastomeric block glassy polymer, the elastomeric phase the elastomeric blocks and the matrix phase comprising the polymer vitreous matrix and blocks of glassy polymer, wherein the composition further comprises an elastomeric polymer having the same composition comprising the elastomeric block , the elastomeric polymer is more than 50% by weight of the discrete phase, acting block copolymer as compatibilizer between the rubber phase and the matrix, and wherein the elastomeric blocks are tougher than the glassy blocks and the polymer vitreous matrix physiological conditions.
