INTERACTION OF MICROWAVES WITH MATTER.

1968
Abstract : The program has been concerned broadly with parametric interactions in solids. The motivation for studying these interactions has always been their applicability to amplification and frequency conversion. However, the systems which have been studied here differ from those involved in the more standard and familiar parametric devices in both the kinds of interactions and the physical types of waves which are involved. This work has led to the experimental verification of several original techniques for processing microwave signals and to some new measurement techniques. In addition, acoustic properties of some new materials have been measured, traveling spin wave amplification has been of electron-phonon interactions in InSb. (Author)
