CORPO DE CRIANÇA: INSATISFAÇÃO DA IMAGEM CORPORAL NA CIDADE DE JACOBINA-BAHIA

The present study focuses on the association between the Body Mass Index (IMC) and the level of satisfaction and dissatisfaction of children with regard to their body. The paper aims to analyze the presence of body image distortion in school children in the city of Jacobina, Bahia. It is a descriptive research of quantitative approach. We used as inclusion criteria: Duly enrolled students, being within the concept of child, and that they presented the Free and Informed Consent Form duly signed by the person in charge. From the collected data it was verified that the distortion in the perception of the body image has already been present since childhood.
