Optimization of fermentation conditions of Mn-SOD produced by Bacillus sp.

The optimum fermentation conditions of Mn-SOD produced by an alkali-tolerant strain Bacillus sp.110-3 were studied. The optimum fermentation medium was determined as follows: 4% maizestarch, 1% peptone, 0.5% yeast extract, 1% NaCl, 100μmol/L Mn2+, pH6.0~8.0. Significant factors of fermentation were determined by orthogonal experiment with SPSS analysis. This investigation provided theoretical basis for the production of Mn-SOD.
