Development and Use of Software and Hardware for Computer Modeling of Seismic Fields Based on GPU using Locally Recursive Non-Locally Asynchronous Algorithms

Summary We describe the experience of developing and applying software and hardware for numerical simulation of seismic signal propagation. Solving the problem of the propagation of elastic vibrations in numerical models of complex geological environments allows, on the basis of a computational experiment, to study the effect of the structure and properties of the elements of the geological environment on seismograms recorded at given points. The programs for numerical solution of the equations of motion of the elastic model of the geological environment are based on locally recursive non-locally asynchronous algorithms. The algorithms provide a high level of parallelism of the computations, which is a good fit for the modern multi-core GPUs.
