The medical monitoring system comprises an application device, a sensing service support platform, a video monitoring platform and a gateway device, wherein the application device is used for communicating with the sensing service support platform to ask for obtaining sensing data of a monitored person and communicating with the video monitoring platform to ask for obtaining video and audio data of the monitored person; the sensing service support platform is used for sending a sensing data requesting message to the gateway device based on a sensing data request, and obtaining the sensing data as well as forwarding the sensing data to the application device based on a sensing data response message turned back by the gateway device; the video monitoring platform is used for sending an audio and video data requesting message to the gateway device based on an audio and video data request, and obtaining the audio and video data and forwarding the audio and video data to the application device based on an audio and video data response message turned back by the gateway device; the gateway device is used for invoking hardware to acquire data information of the request based on the corresponding request.
