The removal capability of zearalenone by Lactobacillus mucosae in vitro

2013
In this study, the ability of L.mucosae lm4208 to remove zearalenone was studied at different conditions in liquid. The viable or inactivated cells of L.mucosae lm4208 were cultured with zearalenone at different initial cell concentration and different pH.The content of zearalenone in the culture supernatant was measured by HPLC method. The results showed that L.mucosae lm4208 has the high ability to remove zearalenone, and its removal ability was significantly increased when the bacteria was inactivated, and the initial cell concentration of the viable or inactivated L.mucosae lm4208 significantly influenced the removal ability, but the pH had no significant effect on the removal ability. The results layed the foundation for further study on the application of L.mucosae to the removal of zearalenone in practice.
