Data Aggregation Protocols to Prolong Network Lifetime in Wireless Sensor Network

2014
Wireless sensor network is made up of low-cost sensor nodes. Sensor nodes are deployed over an geographic region to sense the region. In wireless sensor network base station queries the sensor nodes, sensor nodes send the sensed data to base station. Sensed data contains redundant data because collected by various nodes in same region. If sensor nodes send the data directly to base station, nodes loss their energy quickly and network become unusable. So, data will be aggregated at aggregator nodes. Data aggregation in wireless sensor network removes redundant data collected by various sensor nodes. Various data aggregation protocols like LEACH, HEED, PEGASIS, EEBCDA etc. are used. Through these protocols network lifetime and energy efficiency is improved.
