In vivo cytokine production by allospecific CD8+ transgenic T cells after heart transplantation

1999
C1 T CELLS recognize antigenic peptides in the context of major histocompatability complex class I molecules. Like CD4 T cells, activated CD8 T cells can be divided into at least two subgroups by the pattern of cytokines that they secrete, referred to as TC1 and TC2. It is important to study cytokine production during rejection to clarify the phenomenon of allograft rejection. In this study, we have focused on cytokine production by alloreactive CD8 T cells during acute rejection at the single-cell level following adoptive transfer of H-2K specific CD8 TCR transgenic T cells into naive syngeneic recipients.
