DEMANDA DE EDUCANDOS DO ESPECTRO AUTISTA NA EDUCAÇÃO ESPECIAL: uma análise dos dados do Rio Grande do Sul

Introduction: This study sought to analyze through the current demand of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the education network of Rio Grande do Sul in order to understand the ways in which these students are receiving education support. Method: This is an ecological study composed of a historical series originating from enrollments from Special Education in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. The analysis was composed by the Spearman Correlation test, Robust Poisson Regression. The significance level adopted was p<0,05. Results: Special Education totaled 709.290 enrollments, 25% in specialized classes and 75% in common classes. The enrollments. Of the total, 83% came from common classes and 17% from specialized classes. There was na increase of 8% in Special Education enrollments and 12% in common classes. With a reduction of 2% for specialized classes. Enrollmentof students with ASD increased by 13%, being 15% in common classes and 4% in specialized classes.
