BUFFERING WORK STRESSORS: IS SOCIAL SUPPORT A DOUBLE-EDGED SWORD?

The purpose of this study was to shed light on the mixed evidence regarding the buffering effects of social support reported in prior research. A total of 768 workers participated in the study. Our results suggest that the effect of leader support on the stressor-strain relationship depended on source congruence.
