Certificación en las normas ISO como un instrumento de legitimación : caso Ecopetrol

2020
The relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Total Quality Management has become more relevant in recent years, since companies used tools derived from this philosophy such as ISO 14001 and 26000 standards as a means to legitimize The impact they have suffered on the environment and society. For this reason, in this article, a qualitative review and reflection with a documentary scope is carried out where, through the case of the Ecopetrol company, the environmental and social logic under which quality is certified and evaluated is analyzed, through the contrast with different versions of their reports, if they really do it in this way or their objectives contain another logic. The proposed reflection seeks to analyze the meaning or reason why the environmental and social issue is included in these standards and the reasons for the controls companies are oriented to their application or certification.
