Experimental study of Langerhans cells of suction blister roof

1989
Suction blisters were raised over guinea pig skin with a suction pump. The time required for blister formation was approximately one hour. The blisters were formed in dermal-epidermal junction. Each blister top, consisting entirely of epidermis, was then removed with scissors. Specimens were processed cytochemitally for adenosine triphosphatase (ATPase).A good result was obtained. Because there was no dermis in the biopsy, no scar was formed after wound healing. It is specially suitable for the examination of epidermal Langerhana cells over exposure areas such as face.
