Determination of Inorganic Cations in High Concentration Organic Liquid Wastes by Ion Chromatography

2007
An evaporation-incineration system for salty organic liquid wastes is put forward and tested. An ion chromatographic method for the determination of alkaline and alkaline earth metal cations in high concentration organic wastewater is developed. The separation of cations is achieved on an IonPac CS12A column with 20 mmol/L methanesulfonic acid as the eluent. The detection is performed by a conductivity detector.Na~(+)、K~(+)、Mg~(2+) and Ca~(2+) could be identified within 14 minutes.A C18 cleanup column is used for direct sample injection. The method is sensitive, selective and simple, which is convenient to be used for the determination of cations in the samples in the incineration of liquid wastes.
