Better safety for pedestrians by new impactor testing method

The optimisation of new cars with regard to increased pedestrian safety is demanded by an EU directive. It is within the scope of this that the laboratory for pedestrian and passenger protection of the TUV Rheinland Group is one of the institutions which is permitted to carry out tests for the official approval of new vehicle models. To this end, an innovative testing rig with a mobile test measuring arm from Faro Europe was put into operation, thus time consuming preparation work for the co-ordination system is omitted.
