Computer simulations are enabling researchers to investigate systems which are extremely difficult to handle analytically. In the particular case of General Relativity, numerical models have proved extremely valuable for investigations of strong and dynamical gravitational fields. In this paper we develop the simulation of a Schwarzschild’s black hole using the Cactus software, and considering a particular and compatible selection of the following key components: evolution formalism, gauge, initial and boundary conditions and numerical algorithms; furthermore, we validate the numerical results generated by the simulation with some of the analytical results known for this physical system.
