Using a whole-body phantom to investigate the effects of positioning on RF personal exposimetry measurements

2011
It is unclear how the presence of the human body effects personal exposimetry measurements. To test this, Satimo EME Spy 140 PEMs were placed on a whole-body phantom, measuring the ambient field, then the resulting data were compared to reference measurements done at the same time. By averaging the relative data, intra-day variations and noise cancel out and position-related coefficients can be derived. Differences as high as 12 dB were found, however, no clear pattern can be discerned.
