Powertrain control means of heat air flow grille shutters

2011
A method for powertrain thermal control in a vehicle with air flow flaps. The method comprises the steps of: vehicle operating conditions including at least one temperature condition for an engine cooling loop, and an engine load are detected; Engine coolant is pumped through the engine cooling loop, which includes that the engine coolant is at all temperature conditions of the engine cooling loop pumped through a cooler; and the grille air flow flaps are adjusted relative to a radiator in such a way that this part is ever blocked no portion or all of the air flow through the grille selectively, to thereby control based on the detected vehicle operating conditions the air flow through the radiator.
