Experimental Study on Resolution Enhancement in Height for Automotive MW-3D-SAR

Automatic driving systems of automobile have been extensively studied. In particular, automotive millimeter-wave (MW) radar is drawing attention. So far, we have studied on SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) technique for automobile to make 2D-map images. Obviously objects surrounding automobile also contain height information, hence 3D imaging will help us to discriminate object information. In this paper, we will realize 3-D imaging of an object by observing with a vertically-placed array antenna, and examine the height estimation performance of several Direction-of-Arrival estimation technique.
