Optimization of Fermentation Conditions for Producing Rhodotorula rubra JLC with Waste Tobacco Stems

2013
Plackett-Burman design was used to screen the major factors affecting fermentation production of a carotenoids-rich Rhodotorula rubra JLC from waste stems. The results showed that among the 11 tested factors, cane sugar,NaH2PO4,KH2PO4 and culture time significantly affected yeast yield. In Plackett-Burman experiments, the dry weight of maximum biomass reached 20.63 g/L.
