Primeros pasos en el desarrollo de la estrategia de geodiversidad de la comunidad autónoma del País Vasco 2020

2015
The enactment of the Geodiversity Strategy for the Basque Autonomous Community (CAPV) has been a landmark in the history of its natural heritage management because it has been the first time that a specific planning and management tool for geodiversity and geoheritage has been passed. However, before its passing, in view of the 42/2007 Law of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, the General Administration of Basque Country had started developing actions related to the referenced topic, such as the Geodiversity Strategy for the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve that was planned as a pilot experience before its extension to the whole territory of the Autonomous Community. Afterwards, several spreading action have been implemented, such as inventories, publications, computer tools, plans, programs and projects. The Basque Strategy plans 45 actions that are supposed to be developed during 2015-2020 period, although some of them have been implemented some time before.
