Ecological adaptability and variations among population of Mexican beetle, Zygogramma bicolorata Pallister (Chrysomelidae: Coleoptera)

2006
Studies on the ecological adaptability and variations in the biological attributes of different populations of Mexican beetle, Zygogramma bicolorata Pallister indicated appreciable difference in the biological attributes of different populations. Amongst the populations of Z. bicolorata, collected from Delhi (semi-tropical), Jammu (temperate), Jabalpur (semi-tropical) and Haridwar (foothills), the Jammu population showed better survival as compared to other populations. Further varying climatic conditions and/or different genetic make-up of the field collected populations had an impact on the difference in the biological behaviour of the beetle.
