Thermography Shows Damaged Tissue and Cavities Present in Trees

2003
The detection of damage (cavities and rotten tissues) in living trees poses a serious problem to public administrations and to those who manage public parks and gardens, as it is not unusual to witness the sudden fall of trees or parts of them which cause serious damage to people and things. Currently, there are a number of investigation systems available for the detection of damage, but most of them require a long time, cause injury to tissues and provide information only on the area and at the level at which they are applied.
