Circuit Design Challenges and Considerations for Portable Medical Instrument System Applications

The analysis of circuit design challenges and considerations for a low-power intelligent system for medical instrument of traditional Chinese medicine applications is given. A lot of important design details need to be considered when designing an analog front end and a signal post-processing circuit to realize recognizing subjects’ wrist pulse fluctuation signal and photoplethysmography signal. The data were real-timely transmitted to the mobile devices wirelessly and diagnosis algorithm was integrated in the mobile APP. Experimental results on a system testing board validates the functionality of the proposed system design.
