Normative and Cultural Factors Influencing in Political Participation of Women : A Case Study of District 5 in Tehran

The present research aimed at explaining the effective normative and cultural factors on women's political participation in district 5 in Tehran with descriptive-survey method in 2012. The statistical community to research all the female teachers and staff District 5 in Tehran on three-point Levels, high school and vocational and elementary number 2954 persons. The sample size using the formula sampling Cochran 340 people to estimate the random sampling procedure was stratified according to the size of each point. Information gathering tool researcher based on likert range in three parts respectively. Validity tool research in two formal and content levels is confirmed. Reliability of research tool using the coefficient of Cranach's alpha was estimated to be 0.85. An analysis of descriptive information in two levels including frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation, and t-test levels of inferential statistics including, variance analysis, and factor analysis was performed. Results indicated that cultural factors influence the political participation of women with (3.99) was greater than the average level. The impact of these factors on the normative mean (4.01) was greater than the average level. In demographic variables between the dimension of the cultural factors influencing the political participation of women in marital status variables, depending on the age, qualification, experience, education, spouse, spouse's occupation service, number of children, length of stay in Tehran, the type of home, family income and expenditure, there was no significant difference.
