The aim of the study was to check the role of support from grandparents for the mother's autonomy-control relationship and difficulties in communicating with peers in adolescents from the single mother's family living with and without grandparents. Using selected subscales from the Berlin Social Support Scale, the Family Relations Questionnaire, and a selected subscale from the author's Scale of Communication of Adolescents with Peers, 317 people were examined. The results showed that perceived and received support are important mediators for the mother's autonomy-control relationship and difficulties in communicating with peers in each group of adolescents examined.
