Development of Pulsed Electro-acoustic Measurement System with High Positional Resolution at High Temperature using P(VDF/TrFE) Thin Film

2020
Positional resolution of space charge distribution measurement at high temperature is attempted using a thin P(VDF/TrFE) film in PEA method. The thinnest film of a commercially available P(VDF/TrFE), which enables to detect an acoustic signal at high temperature, is about 10 µm and it is difficult to improve the positional resolution using the film. Therefore, we tried to make a thin film by ourselves by a casting method, and we can get a thin film of about 4.5 µm thick. Using the hand-made thin film, it is expected to improve the positional resolution of the space charge distribution. In this report, some typical measurement results for evaluation of the piezoelectricity in the developed film at relatively high temperature of 80 °C or more are introduced.
