A Defense of Culture School——Discussing Some Misconceptions of Translatology Reductionism

Translatology Reductionism is put forward on the basis of the criticism of traditional theory and contemporary ones held by "Culture School",namely Descriptive Translation Studies.The criticism and doubts(on) "Culture School" are quite typical in the circle of Translation Studies.Through an exploration of the structure and the research objects of Translation Studies,a young humane and social science,the paper has pointed out some misconceptions held by Translatology Reductionism.The author further holds that the study pursued by Culture School,is one of the indispensable parts of the discipline——Translation Studies.Hopefully,this clarification will facilitate the successful construction and healthy development of the new discipline.
