Inversion of frequency modulation (FM) spectroscopy line shapes

We describe an algorithm that allows to extract the original absorption and dispersion line shapes from an arbitrary FM/AM spectrum taken with a dual-phase lock-in amplifier in a completely model-independent way. In particular, large FM and AM indices can be handled.
