A new generation of water-borne ink binders for packaging films and paper (Part II)

2001
In part I the technology of the third generation of printing ink binders was presented, based on oligomer supported bimodal particle size acrylic latices. The second part of this paper will discuss the advantages of this technology in comparison with the usual water-borne ink binders and will give a review of the most important application properties of these high solid liquid printing inks on paper and plastic films, where obviously as well as fast drying, also adhesion and water resistance are playing an important role.
