Electrochemistry on Corrosion Engineering

Base metals, such as iron, copper, zinc, and so on, in contact with water, corrode in nature. The loss of energies and materials caused by corrosion is terribly large, resulting in very large economic loss. Moreover, the buildings and machines used a lot of various metals so that the corrosion is also undesirable from the viewpoint of safety. The corrosions of base metals can be explained by electrochemistry. In this paper, fundamentals of electrochemistry on corrosion engineering and protection against corrosion have been introduced.
