Implementation of HUB and Spoke Topology in VPN Using EIGRP

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a network that allows service provider to have point-to-point connections between the customer sites. This paper involves the implementation and configuration of Hub and Spoke Topology in VPN using Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) for security and encrypted form of connectivity. EIGRP is the routing protocol that uses Diffusing Update Algorithm (DUAL) such that no boundary decisions are made in between any two routers on its own. Information is transferred using EIGRP in between customer-edge and provider-edge routers with minimal delay compared to other protocols in more secured form. The main application of this type of technology is employed in Banking and connection of separate Autonomous system like in Traffic engineering.
