Three-Phase Centrifuged Gliding-Arc Discharge for $ \hbox{CH}_{4}$ Treatment

2011
A three-phase centrifuged gliding-arc (TPCGA) discharge was developed for a large volume of plasma effect, combining rotational and axial displacements through a three-phase power source and the injected gas, respectively. The principle of operation and the experimental setup are described. This TPCGA discharge is applied to the treatment of toxic gases as greenhouse ones. This paper illustrates the application of TPCGA in the treatment of CH 4 and a brief presentation of preliminary results obtained by mass spectrometry.
