An efficient Design of three-input XOR gate in QCA technology

2021
Recently, Low power and reduced heat dissipation are an increasing demand for digital systems. Quantum Dot Cellular Automata (QCA) is a future generation solution based on nanotechnology for the digital systems. The QCA systems have advantages like the small size, ultralow power consumption and high switching frequency. The present research aims at introducing a novel three-input XOR gate containing 12 cells. The energy dissipation analysis of the proposed gate is verified using three different energy levels ( $\gamma= 0.5\ E_{k},\ \gamma=1.0,\ E_{k}$ and $\gamma=1.5\ E_{k}$ ) at $T=2$ Kelvin temperature. The results obtained using the QCADesigner reliable simulation tool demonstrate the superiority of the presented structure over existing designs by taking the cell numbers used, the area occupied, the delay and energy dissipation as design metrics.
