Aerosol Science and the Dynamics of Airborne Transmission

This session covered the fundamentals of airborne transmission of infectious diseases via droplet and aerosol sourced emitted by infected individuals. Data on the specific aerosol properties of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that caused COVID-19, and evidence of the presence of the virus in aerosols were presented. The presentation provided an overview of the specific physical and biological properties of infectious aerosols and droplets generated through respiratory functions and established evidence for respiratory transmission of COVID-19.
