Modeling and Simulation of Millimeter Wave Propagation in Underdense Homogeneous Plasma

In this paper, the simulation model of millimeter wave reflected, absorbed and transmitted characteristics in underdense uniform plasma is established. The calculation of reflection energy, transmission energy and absorption energy of millimeter wave is completed. The frequency of millimeter wave is 50-100GHz, and other parameters such as polarization, incident angle, plasma length are different. The results are shown that the propagation characteristics of millimeter wave in plasma are the same although polarization is different. Thin plasma can hardly absorb millimeter wave energy; when the plasma has centimeter scale, the millimeter wave energy can be absorbed more than 95% by optimizing the plasma parameters. The propagation characteristics of millimeter wave at different incident angles are obviously different.
